Frequently asked questions

MP3 conversion primarily improves compatibility, not audio quality. Since AMR is already heavily compressed for speech, converting it to MP3 will not magically restore lost fidelity, but it might sound clearer on players not optimized for AMR.
Yes, typically. AMR files are extremely small due to their very low bitrates (often 4.75-12.2 kbps). Converting to a standard MP3 bitrate (e.g., 64-128 kbps for speech) will result in a larger file size, but still manageable.
While technically possible, AMR is not designed for music and will yield very poor quality. If your "AMR" file contains music, it was likely encoded incorrectly or is a very low-quality capture, and converting it to MP3 won't improve its musical fidelity significantly.
