JSON to CSV and CSV to JSON converter

Paste JSON to get a CSV for Excel or Google Sheets — or paste CSV to get JSON. Nested objects are flattened for you.

This is not valid JSON. Check for a missing comma, quote or bracket.

The CSV is empty.

Runs in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.

How the conversion works

JSON to CSV expects a list of records — [{"name": "Ann", "age": 30}, …]. Every distinct key becomes a column, and a record that lacks a key simply leaves that cell empty.

Nested objects are flattened with dots: {"user": {"name": "Ann"}} becomes a column called user.name. Arrays stay in one cell as JSON text, so no information is lost.

CSV to JSON reads the first row as column names. Numbers, true, false and null become real JSON values; text with a leading zero, such as a ZIP code 00123, stays text. The delimiter is detected automatically, so files from European Excel (semicolons) work too.

Values that start with =, +, - or @ are prefixed with an apostrophe in the CSV, so a spreadsheet never runs them as a formula.

Yes. The downloaded CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, which Excel uses to pick the right encoding.
Files of a few megabytes convert instantly. Because everything runs in your browser, the limit is your device's memory, not an upload size.
No. The conversion happens in your browser, so private data never leaves your device.
